In order to create an arena to compete in business talents, build a platform for communication, and provide a stage to connect with the real business war for MBA students, the 9th National Management Case Elite Competition (2023) - Southeast University MBA Campus Breakthrough Competition was held on April 22, 2023， in the Boai Hall of Jinling Hotel. Professor Shi pointed out that case teaching is an important teaching method of MBA teaching, and it is also the mainstream teaching method, and the case competition should become the highest level of teaching method in case teaching. For case teaching, he suggested that first, students should have basic management knowledge and learn how to obtain information at the same time; second, it is necessary to grasp the framework, methods, and ideas of case analysis; third, through the acquisition of information, accumulate methods and experience in solving common problems; fourth, practice produces true knowledge, and it is necessary to master the ability to acquire knowledge in practice. This competition is a major review of the effectiveness of MBA case teaching at Southeast University, and the competition fully follows the competition rules formulated by the National MBA Teaching and Guidance Committee and the China Management Case Sharing Center. The case of the competition, " Jinling Hotel: Forty Elegance, Golden Blossom", was selected from the outstanding MBA alumni employment enterprise, and the case writers completed the writing of the competition case through the systematic research of the case enterprise, in-depth understanding of various business modules and operation models, and provided a valuable case blueprint for the competition. Wang Jun and Sun Mingrui, 2022 MBA students of Southeast University, presided over the case competition.
After intense preparation and high-level brainstorming, 13 passionate and energetic teams from the MBA/EMBA of Southeast University deeply analyzed the challenges and opportunities faced by Jinling Hotel in the era of the digital economy through research and discussion, and put forward practical solutions and strategic plans from different perspectives, providing suggestions for the sustainable and high-quality development of Jinling Hotel.
According to the rules of the competition, the competition is divided into two parts: blind review before the competition and on-site competition. In the pre-competition blind review session, the judges reviewed the analysis report of each team, obtained the blind scores, and sealed them. In the PK part of the on-site competition, the jury scored on the spot according to the on-site performance of the four members of each team, as well as the rationality, innovation, effectiveness, logic, and professionalism of the case analysis. The participating teams conducted an in-depth analysis of the competition case and interpreted the case to the judges and the audience through different perspectives. The-for-tat and sparkling thought collision of the players on the stage, and the enthusiastic questions of the trainees under the stage, fully demonstrated the demeanor and strength of the MBA students of Southeast University. At the same time, the sharp questions and wonderful comments of the expert judges increased the depth and breadth of the case analysis.

Part Ⅲ: Award Ceremony
After the pre-competition blind review and the comprehensive scoring of the on-site competition, the competition ranking was finally determined. The champions were the 2021MBA (1) class which is the jade team under the guidance of teacher Wang Zheng and the 2022MBA (5) class Duxing Zhiyuan team under the guidance of teacher Zhou Lulu. The runners-up were the 2022MBA (1) class Chunyu team under the guidance of teacher Wang Zheng and the 2022MBA (7) class Turing team under the guidance of teacher Ju Chuanjing. The third places were won by the 2022MBA (8) class Kowloon talent team under the guidance of teacher Zhang Xiaoling, the 2022 EMBA E road team under the guidance of teacher He Yong, and the 2022 MBA (1) class Finale team under the guidance of teacher Li Qinghua.
The competition is a great practice for the National Management Case Elite Competition. The outstanding contestants selected will represent the school to participate in the finals of the 8th National Management Case Elite Competition, which will be postponed to next month due to the epidemic, and the 9th National Management Case Elite Competition, which will be held in July in East China. This competition has achieved the purpose of promoting learning, teaching, and reform through competition, improving students' ability to identify, analyze, and make decisions about management problems, and building a platform for MBA students to communicate on an equal footing and collide with ideas.
