In order to learn and understand the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping on firm cultural confidence, the theoretical center group of the Party Committee of the College of Economics and Management of Southeast University held a study seminar on the afternoon of June 13th in A208 of the Economic Management Building. Participants of the meeting mainly studied the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 39th collective study of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the speech of President Huang Ru at the 120th-anniversary celebration of the founding of Southeast University. The seminar was hosted by Yuan Jianhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School.
At the meeting, Comrade Yuan Jianhong led the study and said that it is necessary to further learn and understand the important thoughts of General Secretary Xi Jinping on promoting the enhancement of historical consciousness and firm cultural self-confidence. It is important to integrate the enhancement of cultural confidence of the majority of teachers and students into the whole process of ideological and political education and social science teaching, and enhance the awareness and identification of the majority of teachers and students with the excellent Chinese traditional culture, revolutionary culture and advanced socialist culture. We shall continuously strengthen the School's external publicity, focus on positive guidance and optimize the environment, discover and encourage those advanced models with firm cultural self-confidence, play their role as model leaders, and comprehensively enhance the cultural self-confidence of the majority of teachers and students.
This study seminar is a profound exchange of ideas. The participants said that cultural identity and self-confidence are the pillars of determination and strength to face difficulties and challenges. The new era we live in is the historical intersection of the "Two Hundred Years" goal and the most critical era for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Young people have a wide space for development and a great mission of the times. It is the 120th anniversary of the founding of Southeast University, and it is the right time to set sail with a good wind. Today, Southeast University has entered the period of rapid development of "Double First-class" construction, showing new achievements in the construction of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics. Standing at the starting point of the new century of Southeast University, teachers and students should bear in mind the original mission, firm cultural self-confidence, establish scientific concepts, improve professionalism, and serve the development and construction of the country by casting high-quality products with craftsmanship. Only when the "tree in our hearts" stands evergreen can we become the new man of the times who has the confidence and determination to take up the "baton" of history.
Each party and group branch of the school has organized study and exchange seminars around the topic of "In-depth Study and Understanding of the Spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Speech on Firm Cultural Confidence", and submitted study tips to inspire all teachers and students to carry forward the excellent tradition of "Learning in Southeast University", never forget the past and strive to create the future.
