About speaker:
Professor Wei Minghai is one of the first national accountants awarded by the Ministry of Finance. He is currently the president of Guangzhou University, a doctoral supervisor in accounting at Sun Yat-sen University, and an executive director of the Accounting Society of China. He used to be the dean of the School of Management of Sun Yat-Sen University, the vice-president of Yat-sen University, a member of the Business Administration Discipline Evaluation Group of the 7th Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, and the co-editor-in-chief of CJAR. He has long been engaged in the fields of corporate finance and accounting, corporate governance and investor protection. He has presided over more than 10 key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Fund, and the Ministry of Finance. Professor Wei Minghai has published more than 110 academic papers in CAR, JCF, JAPP, ABR, Management World and Accounting Research, etc. He has published 13 books and textbooks including Profit Management Research, Accounting Responsibilities of Corporate Executives, The Logic of Accounting Research and Teaching and Research on Several Characteristics of Chinese Enterprise Capital Structure. He has won the Ministry of Education's Young Teacher Award in Colleges and Universities, the second and third prizes of the Ministry of Education's 3rd and 5th China University Humanities and Social Sciences Outstanding Research Award, and the first prize of Guangdong Province Teaching Achievement Award.
